Kinga and Konrad’s October Wedding

In all my years shooting weddings, I have rarely met such an easy going couple. Easy going, so in love with each other and so very beautiful in every way. It was my first wedding that I have been invited to, where I actually danced, that’s how much fun I had! Here’s the story of Kinga and Konrad and their magical day:

Palleta Mansion was the beautiful venue where everything took place

Everything was simply gorgeous

Makeup is hard to do with so many smiles going arround

There was no stress, it just got a little quiet before the big moment

:) There is no wedding without a wedding cake, oh and what a wedding cake it was!

We snuck out after the ceremony, and although it was cold, we  had blast

You guys are amazing!

Cheers,

Marta Tomsa

K and K

Well, their big day is coming soon and we got ready for it with what else but an engagement shoot. When asked to describe their relationship, just so I would have a better understanding of what these two are all about and just to give me a feel of what direction we should take with the engagement shoot, among many things Kinga and Konrad said they have been friends for a really long time and honestly after what I saw when I met with them last week, they will continue to be until the end of all times!

I look forward to your big, big day!

Thank you for having me,

Cheers!

Melody and Sassan’s Engagement

I love Engagement Shoots. Everybody knows that. It’s no secret. I love them SO much for so many reasons: there is no time limit, there is no stress, the place I pick has nothing to do with how close it is to any other location and last but not least and certainly most important: I get to choose the light I use. It helps of course when you get to work with amazing couples like this one. You’ve probably seen them from my previous posts; here is the story of Melody and Sassan.

Initially we were suppose to meet at University of Toronto for this shoot. I got there first and something just didn’t feel right. So I called them and changed locations. Just downtown Toronto, 5 minutes away from the madness there is this place called the Queen’s Quay. I personally found it to be so much more suited for their personality, the light was incredible and it turned out to be one of the most romantic sessions I had ever done.

We started out shy, as usual :) but I took that first shot of Melody and I knew it was going to be one of those afternoons that go down in history

It didn’t take long before their true personality showed

And magic was all around us

Here are my two favorites of the day:

Black and White never looked better

:) Pink

I think these were the last two shots!

:) Thank you for having me!

Kiki and Sean’s Wedding

This was the big day we have all been waiting for. The weather was gorgeous, the bride was amazingly beautiful, the groom extremely handsome, Jamaica was the place to be on the 23rd of July!

We started early morning at 9. I met with Kiki in the lobby of the hotel. I found her to be nervous but very happy!

Sean, on the other hand, very summery and “stress free” as the day unfolded

We had breakfast, went for a quick swim, just because we could :) and than we headed back to their room where I saw THE dress for the first time

Yes! It was red!

Here are the details of the day. “Passport to love”… I’ll say! :)

Getting ready…. not stress free, but so much fun!

And there is always the wait…

:)

But this time it was worth it in the end!

I guess dreams do come true…

And what sweet dreams they had

I knew it was going to be a short day, even so …10 hours went by too fast.

Magic is the word to describe this wedding and I hope with all my heart “Magic” follows these two forever just like it did that unforgettable day in July.

Thank you for having me,

Cheers!

Happy Birthday, pretty girl!

For all of you out there who enjoy my photography there is one thing about me you must know: meet Ada! She was my very first model when I started discovering photography, she was so very patient with me when I made her pose for hours at a time, she loves the camera among many things and today she is turning nine. Because I feel that I owe so much to her and because she is the most adorable, smartest poodle I know, I decided to celebrate her special day with a photo-shoot and … snacks, of course.

And because she thinks all good things either come in a plastic bag or happen outside, we decided to move everything in the back yard

We wanted to take Mister Douglas as well, but he is never any fun so we did the best we could:

Here she is: Birthday girl!

And here is the card she got:

Mmmm, a card is always good, but…where are all the presents?

I always say all good gifts come in big boxes!

Yes, she is a princess :)

And of course it’s not a birthday unless there is a cake:

One more thing about Ada: the only word she knows in English is “snack”, she is 100% Romanian and very proud of it, she has lots of character and a great personality and she is the smartest, most adorable poodle I know!

Happy B-day, girlie! I love you so much!

Marta

Kiki and Sean

Kiki and Sean have decided to have their Engagement and Wedding in Negril, Jamaica and took me along. Seven days and seven nights of pure love in the most romantic place I have ever seen.

Used to “Toronto time” I have decided to shoot their Engagement photos at 5.30pm. Like always, things don”t always go as planned, we started shooting around 6.15, by 7pm it was pitch dark outside. I have never seen such a sunset. The sun literally falls from the sky…we had approximately 20 minutes to shoot this :)

And because half an hour is never enough, we found the time to finish what we started on a different day, at a different time , with different lighting and less mosquitoes  :)

Needles to say I had the time of my life!

I will be back shortly with images from the wedding day.

Thank you for having me!

Cheers!

Melody and Sassan

Melody and Sassan

I could talk about these two for hours and still have something left to say. They were by far among the most beautiful people I have ever met, their love for each other absolutely magnificent and their connection all throughout the day was so special and made the day unforgettable.

So here it is: beautiful Melody getting ready :)

All this time Sassan was waiting downstairs, I was going to say patiently, but…no :)

Putting on that gorgeous dress took a while but it was well worth it in the end!

The flowers were pink and yellow

We did the photo shoot at Edwards Gardens, on a very, very hot day with lots of light and laughter

And than there was the reception… and if there is one thing that I have learned at this wedding is that Persian people sure know how to throw a party!

I have seen quite a few “first dances” but this one was by far the most emotional one

This was definitely no less emotional

And of course the bouquet toss

I wish you all the best and I love you guys!

Thank you for having me,

Cheers,

Annastacia and Matt

It was a June wedding and I think that says it all. The weather was good, the light was good, the bride and groom were beautiful.

Getting ready is always the most fun

The morning was filled with smiles and laughters

Just like everything else she picked for that day, the dress was gorgeus

Here she is :

And there are  always those quiet moments that I love so much and try to capture the best I can

And what can I say about Matt…well, he’s the opposite of quiet, very handsome and such a charmer! :) He had the best speech I heard from a groom and he loves Annastacia with such passion

I couldn’t resist :)

I guess you know you’re shooting a Russian wedding when everyone is simply beautiful

Love was slowly taking over

How about these flowers?

We had the photo-shoot at U of T

It was the end of a glorious day! The stress was gone, everyone was getting ready to party

After the cake,

Comes the dancing

And the emotions come through

It was a beautiful night and a great party!

Thank you for having me,

Cheers,

Joanne and Jerry

Joanne and Jerry got married on the most beautiful day of May. Ever since I met them the first time they just had this magic between them that made everything so easy and natural.

Here it is:

And here :)

T

The venue had an unique charm, very personal and private

The flowers were beautiful!

You could feel the love everywhere you looked :)

The cake…oh, the cake…

And She was gorgeous!

And of course… it’s always those moments in between that are simply unforgettable

I saw their true colors….

And what a site is was to see!

And last but certainly not least, I just have to post a picture of the ring bearer, who may I say, is the sweetest kid I have ever seen

Thank you for having me!

Cheers,

Marta Tomsa
