Hello,
My name is Marta Tomsa and I am a professional Wedding Photographer.
Simply because the question of how I became a Wedding Photographer is the most common one, here is the story of how it all happened.
I began shooting years back, in Romania, with an old Sony Mavica that worked with a floppy disk, if you can believe it. And than I discovered film! That is how I found my most favorite camera till this day, an old russian Zenit. I tried shooting everything: Nature, Street, Urban…and finally I stopped at People.
I begun submitting my photographs on photography web sites. I started winning photo contests and that only encouraged me to go further.
In 2005 I moved to Canada and that was the year when I started doing Wedding Photography as a profession. I still remember my first wedding, it was one of the most beautiful I have ever done. It was one of my friend’s mother that got married.
After, I started working with event planning agencies and photography studios and here I am today doing the only thing that I love most, shooting. Ever since I have done weddings in Canada, Europe and this year I started doing destination weddings as well.
Couples and friends say this must be one of the most beautiful careers in the word. And I have always agreed. There is nothing else that I would rather do and until this day I can not make up my mind what I like the most: shooting the actual event and capturing that raw emotion or being a part of one of the most beautiful days of people’s lives.
I still have my old camera, and it works perfectly. Sometimes I take it outside for a shoot, just to remind me of where it all started and how I became the photographer that I am today.
Cheers,
Marta Tomsa
